Just southwest of Orlando on the 214-acre Lake Bryan, this $1.2 billion Mediterranean-style project will offer condominium-hotel units and full-ownership condos in five towers. The first tower to be built will be the 15-story InterContinental Resort & Residences Orlando, which will be the largest InterContinental property in the world, with 1,215 guestrooms and suites that will form 778 one- to three-bedroom condo-hotel units. The units will all have storage areas for owners, and they will range from 679 to 1,414 square feet. The other four towers, which will be 18 stories and are scheduled to be completed a year after the first, will each have 200 one- to three-bedroom, 892- to 1,949-square-foot condos. Both these and the condo-hotel units will be sold furnished and will have balconies. There will be fitness centers, owners’ lounges and heated pools and whirlpools at all of the buildings. The project fronts a private beach on the lake, and a beach club and a water sports facility that will offer waterskiing lessons, fishing, sailing and other activities are planned to be built with the first tower. Additional amenities include a spa, gardens, a putting green, lighted tennis courts and seven restaurants. Disney World is about a five-minute drive from the site, and many other attractions, including a large number of golf courses, are nearby as well.
